It IS true, but I must say there's no way I could fully internalize that pre-surgery. The hunger-monkey was on my back constantly - now that it's off and I can FOCUS on what I'm eating and how I'm feeling, it's a world of difference.

I think some foods (Chinese comes to mind, or big Italian pasta meals) have totally lost their luster. I mean, one bite of pasta is sort of pointless - I didn't love the flavor so much as the super-full feeling of eating tons of warm comfort food. Hey Mike. Ok, this might be crazy but I was just following the directions on the Celebrate bottle, which say to take six tablets daily (just checked) but that's actually only 1000 mg! I switched from Bariatric Advantage (was taking 6 for 800mg) and my NUT was ok with that. I haven't talked to her about vitachews, but 4 of these is 2000 mg. I do know I'm vitamin-D deficient, though, so I was taking more calcium to get in more VD as well. But it sounds like you're getting plenty!

I like your mentality about surgery. It's not about the food anymore, it's about the people you're with. I'm definately willing and ready to trade in my weight!! haha I take the Viactiv chews too. I have been taking them for awhile (Since I was in a car accident and broke my foot, my doctor told me to take them as part of my healing and the habit just stuck.) and I'm planning on continuing them after surgery too.

You look great girl, keep working that band. I am getting banded in less than two weeks and only my husband knows. You said on a past video that your family was very opinionated. My advice is to keep quiet.. just between you and youTube community. You'll wish you had when you start losing very slowly or hit a plateau. Plus you WILL encounter some "loving" family and friends that will be jealous, might try to sabotage you or diminish your efforts. Wait until you get to goal. :-)

I'm not sure what u're doing in the mean time while waiting for restriction to kick in? But if u calorie count my tip if ever stall/Plateau is to have 2 cheat days. What I do is eat whatever I want for 2 days but only upto my Basic Metabolic Rate (google) which for me is just over 2600 cals. Then when I return to dieting I find I start losing again. When u first start dieting it really helps to find out what ur BMR is and just knock at least 500 cals off that. I started dieting on 2000 cals aday

I am glad for the update! Congratulations on 32 lbs! That is excellent! You should be proud of what you have accomplished. Okay, lessoned learned about jelly beans...moving on!! When people notice you have lost weight, smiile and say, "thank you it's so nice of you to notice" If they persist, then say "I have been exercising and watching my portion sizes." Are you able to help the doctor find the port? Can you palpate(feel)it yourself? Just curious. Keep up the good work!

I hate lying too and I've only had to do it one time.I usually just change the subject (like you did) and I talk about needing to buy new clothes or something else.I'm at the point now where I kind of wish I had just told everyone from the get go, so I can enjoy when they tell me I'm losing weight instead of worrying that the next thing out of their mouths will be asking how I lost it. Brilliant job Ashley. I've honestly never heard a speech that good directed at people interested in WLS. You are doing so great! Your gorgeous face is already looking thinner:)We started out at the same weight, my ultimate goal is 160, but maybe I can get to 140 too, we'll see?? It's so hard to get used to this whole thing, you will see how your head wants to eat, but your body won't let you, it's just showing you that the surgery is working!! Yay! I can hardly wait to see everyone again! I just found your part I after viewing part II:D As of the moment I am still avoiding the plastic surgery route but I know if I did have it I could easily fit into 2 sizes smaller even now. Ugh! I need to ask around to the post-ops if they have numbness or thickness in the healed areas making physical exams more difficult. This is what I had heard from some people who do medical exams on people who have had it. Did he discuss this? U rock woman! Donna:)
