I actually found it to be pretty cliché. Unless the script gets markedly better in the next few episodes I prob won't hang around to watch. It seems they try to convince you that the show is smart by having a smart character, but that's not how it works,

The FJ is one however we towed a FJ out of this trail also due to blown front end. The IFS just isnt very resiliant on this trail as that of solid axel. But there is a lucky few

Search "Vintage Rubicon Trail Jeepers Jamboree" to see what guys used to do with stock Jeeps on the Rubicon. I have footage from as late as 1992 when 31" was still considered a big tire and 33" was "extreme". You guys get hung up and break stuff with these rigs with dana 60s front and rear, massive travel and huge tires. So much for driver skill (just kidding). ;)

I've never driven an FJ, but my friend has one and it preforms pretty well. i wouldn't trade my '98 TJ for anything though. not even if you set in on fire and drove it off a cliff. but i don't think there is such think as a "better off road vehicle." it depends on the driver, the modifications, how the driver uses the modifications, ect. my jeep is customised to fit me, i don't think someone else would be able to drive mine as well. i don't think i could drive someone else's as well as them.

fj is a better family suv and its much more comfortable and has better looks and body quality but jeep is the real off road car it is reliable and very fun to drive as long as it is a manual tran japanese and korean small compact cars are junk they are made so that we buy them here in the US so it looks like japan here if you need to compact you a buy mini cooper which is german and if you need a sedan u buy a japanses toyota camry and mpre a sports car you either get a supra bmw or muscle car

ok I hate jeeps but the new jk unlimited rubicons are badass they finally got the needed wheel base that yj's needed. I personally run an 85 toyota 4runner with 35s stock solid axles except gears and lockers and dual cases my yota is far from stock. I have pulled a lot of yj's out with a 4banger its not how many horses you have under the hood its all about torque in 4low too much speed or hammering down too much on the skinny breaks things and leaves you walking its turtle speeds crawling people

I believe this part of the trail was called old sluice.?.? Great bolders! Man do I love crawler gears :) Even though my throttle cable and clutch got pinched and stuck at the end with the cab and frame all twisted up she bounced right through.

@abbeykroeter Yeah I live in Vegas. Not many trails in the valley due to dust laws and crap. You have to go out to the mountains for some good trials. Patato Ridge, Wheeler's Pass, Nellis Dunes are the best near areas. Head out to Logandale lots of trails, lots of great closed trails out there that were fun back in the day when they were open. I think people who can't handle dust should move out of the desert and let the rest of us enjoy the outdoors.

While the H1 does have independent front and rear suspension, I wouldn't say that they have no flex. I have seen them on the trail personally and would compare the flex to a factory TJ/JK with no lift. The vehicles that you see these days with the uber amounts of flex are way overkill for the weekend warrior trail rig. People over build and over buy their vehicles to make up for their lack of driving ability. Happening more and more.

They each have thier place. H1 supper stable at high speeds offroad but crack in the rocks, too big, no flex. H2 is just crap all together ;) H3 actually not too bad for light duty 4 wheelin. I have a Unimog and wife has an H3 and both have thier place. I would not take her's rock crawling but I would not take my Unimog for a scenic trail ride or snow run. Drop a locker in an H3 and it's pretty capable.

A solid axle simple won't handle anything close to the amount of force generated, IFS can and does very well. Solids are a staple in 4x4ing for several reasons, strength is generally not one of them. Most 4x4guys are hicks, thus they're under or UNeducated, they don't know of new engineering improvements, and prefer not to change...

Drop a solid axle vehicle (even a superior quality Toyota) from a height of 10m, measure g-force, then repeat at greater height intervals until you snap an axle. As long as you compare apples to apples, the results will always favor the IFS vehicle. If I was wrong then we'd see Baja Trucks running solids, I'm right...
