if i have severe sleep apnea and diabetes, will insurance pay for bariatric surgery? and if i do and it leaves lots of extra skin, will insurance pay for removing that as well?

I need bariatric surgery. My current insurance, well it’s not the world’s best for it (mercy healthcare, HMO) and I dont meet the requirements. I was recently married and in January must find my own insurance. Anyone know which insurance would be best to check into getting that would potentially cover bariatric surgery? I live in Missouri…only other thing I definitely would need the insurance to cover would be my cardiologist, but he takes most every insurance I’ve thought of.

I had my sinuses cleaned out and had the surgeon also perform some cosmetic surgery on my nose at the same time. I was told some of it would be billed to insurance but wasn’t coverable because of the cosmetic surgery done. Can the costs be deducted as medical expenses on income tax?

My insurance doesn’t cover any bariatric surgery. Is there any way I can find a policy that does cover it, and purchase the policy privately?

In January I will no longer be on my parents’ plan, as I will be too old. I am finding it impossible to search for a plan and know what procedures it covers. What do I do?

In February I will be eligable for health insurance through my job, but is there a way I can find out the difference between individual healthplans and know if it covers bariatric surgery?

i was just wondering what everyone’s opinion on cosmetic surgery is.
im planning on getting it when i am of age, not to look fake but just to feel better about myself.
i watch dr. 90210 and i think i would like to have dr. li as the surgeon for a breast augmentation i may get. i would have to be really rich though, cuz most insurance companies dont pay for it right?
o i thought she only did like breast augmentation and reductions etc but she does really nice nose refinements and stuff. so if i become rich (in my dreams) i could get surgeries by her.

i know the risks etc etc i just dont think theres a problem with getting a surgery to feel better about yourself. and if you feel thats what u want to do, i say go for it. i cant really explain it online

I’m curious to know how much Bariatric Surgery (Gastrtic Bypass, etc) costs. Is it covered by insurance? Medicaid? What are the steps one should take? What are some after-effects?
